Real-time modelling and data integration
We have sophisticated modelling skills and extensive experience – we aim to create meaningful models that address real world problems pragmatically.
Modelling the spread of Culicoides midges and Bluetongue virus in Australia to create the world’s first dynamic zoning system for international trade is just one example of our excellent work in this area.

Surveillance
We have implemented a large number of challenging and innovative programs in surveillance around the world. Some of these include sampling for QX disease in Australian oysters, wildlife surveillance in Kenya and iodine insufficiency in children in Tasmania.
We have been involved in research to develop new surveillance techniques, expert groups to develop global surveillance standards for WOAH, designing, implementing, analysing and evaluating disease surveillance.
Demonstrating Freedom from Disease
Angus Cameron has played an instrumental role in the development of the stochastic scenario tree modelling methodology to analyse complex surveillance to demonstrate freedom from disease.
Demonstrating freedom from disease involves providing sufficient evidence to demonstrate (to a level of confidence acceptable to WOAH Member Countries or trading partners) that disease with a specified pathogen is not present in a population.
Early Warning Systems
Our staff have worked on the development of successful systems to rapidly detect infectious disease in populations – at farm, regional and national levels.
Early Warning Systems have the potential to minimise the serious consequences of disease outbreaks, reduce spread and support proactive services.
